Heart Stops!

Hello again!
We have been so excited for the month of February to unveil our Valentine's Day editorials. To kick things off we started with a look inspired by the mascot of the holiday itself, Cupid! Traditionally Cupid is usually depicted as a chubby naked baby boy. For the sake of fashion, makeup, and everything we stand for....we decided to use Emily instead ;)

This is our first shoot we have created hand made props for and we are so happy with how they turned out. The wings, bow, and arrow head are all completely DIY. Though it was some tedious work we really enjoyed the process and feel even more proud of our final product.
As for the makeup Veronica wanted to bring angelic and classic Valentine's Day elements to the look. The focus being a traditional red rounded lip and heart shaped beauty mark on the face. As for the eyes she used  somewhat sultry soft browns that really allowed Emily's gorgeous blue eyes to pop. The idea was to go for something almost reminiscent of 1920's period makeup. To compliment the theme, add at least one cheesy typical element of Valentines day and complete the overall look she painted a few red hearts with swirls of white, pink, and glitter on to the chest. The hair was an extremely simple fish tail braid with a few fun accents but ended up really tying everything together nicely.
As for the clothing, Samantha wanted to keep the angelic elements of Cupid by putting Emily in a delicate white lace dress that went perfect with our handmade wings. To add a rugged twist and keep things not so cliche Samantha paired the dress with red boots and a brown braided sash decorated with vintage cameo broaches.
Thank you all for taking the time to give our blog another glance, we really appreciate all of the support and positive feedback we have been receiving! Thank you again to our lovely model Emily for yet again being so patient and a natural beauty!
