Celtic Faerie

Welcome Darlings!

Spring has sprung here in our neck of the woods of Southern California! So we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to capture our creative visions and essence of the season and create the first Kiss or Kill editorial of the year!

Developing this makeup look was a balancing act between soft ethereal colorful glow and bold Celtic line work. Veronica avoided standard glitter for this look and took to more glowing metallic shadows and pigments. Kat Von D's "Metal Matte" palette was her arsenal of metallic magic for this shoot and used several of the "metal" shades to add the luminosity she was looking to achieve. All of the soft shimmering glow was accented with dramatic eyeliner and small sprite inspired dots and speckling. The speckling and shimmering powders were carried throughout her chest, arms, and hands to further develop this captivating fae vision. Samantha's hair was given loose sparse curls to give a tousled "running through the forest" illusion to her overall look. Veronica finished this fairy look by fashioning a wire crown accented with sparkling jewels and embellishing a pair of slippers with scraps of "foresty" bits for an extra level of enchantment.

Samantha drew inspiration from traditional Irish Celtic Fae artwork to design a sweet meets authentic faerie ensemble. The garment features an array of glowing textile patchwork, richly embroidered ribbons, and silk rose petals to illustrate what a Queen Faerie herself might fashion together with what materials she could find in the enchanted forests of Ireland.

We thank you for joining along with us on this blogging journey. Life gets in the way at times but at the end of the day we love coming together to create beauty of our own kind. Never stop doing the things that make you happy and always find ways to feel inspiration, passion, and magic in your life. This editorial was special to us as Samantha recently discovered her heritage and found that she was half Irish. Her excitement for her culture and its folklore made the creative process so touching on a personal level this time around. We hope this editorial pours a little faerie magic into your day!

Until next time!
XOXO,

Samantha&Veronica
