Summer Goddess

Just in time for the Summer Solstice the Kiss or Kill has taken a step out of our comfort zone and into a world of golden, sun-kissed, Southern California glamour! We added our own style with elements heavily inspired by the goddesses of Greek and Roman mythology to add our traditional ethereal touch. To any of you readers who know us at all, you know we aren't the tannest or most golden girls in California, and we certainly aren't the biggest beach go-er's! Getting this shoot together our very first thought was that we needed to find a model that truly embodied all of these characteristics in a beautiful and striking fashion. Erin Walsh did an incredible job portraying our vision of a stunning and elegant goddess.

This time around Veronica decided to glue some accents on to Erin's eye area to add sparkle and make the face really cohesive with the outfit. some of these pieces were gems, some (surprisingly) metal buttons, and even a seashell was thrown in for good measure! Everything was then accented with gold and purple glitter that paired nicely with the gold and purple shadows used on her eyes. To really achieve a goddess-like vibe in this makeup lots of bronzer and golden shimmer was crucial! Veronica even accented her body with a golden shimmering pigment to cultivate the full fledged goddess that you see before you! The hair was just some simple beach curls that were accented by a head piece Veronica made that had details such as; seashells and faux grapes all brushed with metallic gold paint and surrounded by sparkly golden leaves.

To achieve this golden goddess look, Samantha bedazzled a basic bandeau with vintage gems and shells to transcend the simple piece into a mineral rich beach top. The hot pants also started out very plain like the bandeau which she used as a canvas to hand paint gold swirls, add vintage stonework, and trim with sparkle succulents. For accessories Samantha used bangles, rings, and gladiator sandals all in gold, our main color theme!

We thought this was such an exciting opener to all of our summer editorials we have planned! We hope you all enjoyed looking at it as much as we enjoyed creating it! Thank you again to Erin for being such a gorgeous canvas; it was such a joy to work with you! If you aren't already follow us on Instagram @thekissorkill and stay tuned for our next summer shoot!
